About Me

I am a nearly-twenty year old guy living in the Nottingham area, UK. I really enjoy music, it’s my major day to day passion. My taste is probably one of the stranger anyone is likely to come accross, the full details can be found on my last.fm profile. It’s mainly based around stuff that is groovy, rhythmically interesting, emotionally rich and diverse and melodically moving. That is to say that my taste covers everything from parts of rock and metal, to small portions of hip-hop (mainly Jurassic 5), reggae, jazz, funk, folk, indie and electronic genres. I’m always finding new stuff and learning more about my taste in music and I hope to continue learning more until the day I die.

My other big passion is skiing, I’m a PSIA level 1 ski instructor and finished off my first season in Lake Tahoe, California in April ’09. I’ve not skiied for quite some time now though, it’s not cheap as we all know. I hope to get a week this winter as the skiing bug is really starting to bite me hard. I’m trying to get my fix of outdoors activities through plenty of walking, running and cycling through the local countryside, often with friends.

I play guitar and supply the vocals in a band (Opium Toad) with a few of my good friends and really enjoy playing with them even if it can get annoying when they won’t stop playing when someone (especially me) is trying to talk. Whether the band is going to survive or not currently hangs in the balance though as we’ve had a large lull and our practice space is soon to be gone possibly making Opium Toad a thing of the past. We’ll be sad to see it go if that happens.

This blog is mainly me writing about my life, music, travels, thoughts and experiences. It doesn’t really propose any further value than what it is on the face. Maybe one day I’ll figure out how to write about something people care about and maybe I’ll just keep sending text into the void. Who knows.
